How the Zanies were developed

Back in 1985 my then boyfriend (now my husband) was working at a wedding exhibition selling the concept of video weddings (very new thing back then).  I was a bit bored so he gave me a pencil and some large sheets of paper and said "You are good at drawing. Work on designing some cartoon characters."  So I did.  And the Zanies were the result.

Unfortunately, we did not get around to doing anything with them.  It was only recently with the new concept of ebooks that we thought this is how they could be developed. For helping very young children to learn to read.

The Titfers came about not long afterwards when I started playing golf with my husband. The name Titfers comes from cockney rhyming slang Titfer Tat = Hat.
